From Rwanda with Love

I took a short break from social media while I was on trip to East Africa. For the first time I visited my country of birth, Rwanda. The land of milk and honey, and a terrain of a thousand hills. I felt the need to be fully present and I was inclined to making more human connections with the land, the people and appreciate the rhythm of life in the Motherland.

During my time in Rwanda, I was in a space of beauty, love and kindness which was truly humbling being amongst my fellow Rwandans. I loved how the sun truck so brilliantly and reflected a perfect glow on their skin and frankly on the souls that were moving through life with heart and passion as I do.

Being in the Motherland, brought me gratitude, joy, laughter and tears. I also had a chance to meet my niece on my last day in Kigali. A truly wonderful human, kind, super intelligent, creative and without doubt a shinning light.

I brought back a few souvenirs, mostly crafts, wall decals, bowls, spoons and small baskets (Agatebo)and Uduseke. (Agaseke or uduseke in plural, is a traditional hand woven basket from Rwanda!) I will reveal this new treasure in my upcoming post.

Pictured:

Purple Citrus:

A favorite herbal tea blend. A soothing refreshing organic medley with rooibos (South African red tea) and lemon grass.

Sencha:

Japanese green tea that has been produced for generations. Sencha represents a range of flavors, vegetal, grassy and seedweed.

Spiced Earl:

This is basically everything you love about Earl Grey but with a touch of warm spices. A marvelous blend with fresh citrus notes followed by aromas of cloves and floral flavors.
